At Capitol Rehab of Crofton, we want to make it as easy and comfortable as possible for you to take advantage of our chiropractic services. Part of that is providing the right expectations for your visit with us. In that spirit we've compiled step by step guidelines of what to expect on your initial visit to Capitol Rehab of Crofton.
The first step, of course, is making an appointment with our Crofton chiropractor, Dr. Shaun McClenny. You'll be greeted on your arrival by our friendly and professional receptionist who will have you fill out our standard medical forms to help us better understand your medical history. You can have your questions about chiropractic care answered and be introduced to Dr. McClenny. Once you are comfortable with the answers you receive, you will undergo a spinal and postural exam along with range of motion exams to help us determine your mobility and the core source of any discomfort you may be feeling. This is all about building a foundation for wellness. Rather than covering pain with medication, we use pain as the signal it was intended to be to discover the source of your problem. We see this as a common sense approach to health and wellness.
Our next step is to provide as much immediate relief as we can for your discomfort. This may involve massage or physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, spinal decompression or a variety of other modalities to provide some immediate relief. While most patients experience at least some immediate pressure or pain relief, we want you to understand our goal is long-lasting, permanent relief and wellness. This will likely involve multiple treatments dependent on your condition.
After we provide some relief from pain and discomfort, we begin the process of restoring the body's neuromuscular balance. This helps realign the spine, nerves and muscles to allow the body to better operate at peak performance. Treatment after treatment, patients begin to feel more energy and less discomfort as they approach a state of wellness.
The next phase of care from our Crofton chiropractor is wellness care. After moving through pain and rehabilitation, you are now ready to to keep your body in a state a wellness through routine chiropractic maintenance. This can include lifestyle and nutritional changes to help you live life to its fullest, along with periodic chiropractic adjustments.
